We're a small builder that focuses on you. By designing with James Yeager Homebuilders (both builder and designer) your new home will be designed around your family’s budget first while emphasizing on your desire for the unique.
Often the design phase is contracted to a third party. Many builders have little influence in the home’s elevation, slope and grade of the finished lot shape. Usually it is possible to set the home within the lot more than one way. As both builder and draftsman, Jim will meet with you at the site or lot, to assess the challenges and benefits in the placement of your new home. He will thoroughly explain to you the various options available for the best setting.
We pride ourselves in listening to your wants and needs, while respecting your budget. This will create a unique home design both you and your family will be proud of. If you choose to procure a lender – one of the first steps is typically is to verify the financial stability of your builder.
We are an approved builder at over a dozen local lenders and we would be happy to recommend lenders at your request.

Our Story
James Yeager Homebuilders Inc. are proud to be celebrating their 32nd year in business!
Starting small and purposely remaining that way, is just one of the attractive qualities they are known for. James and Julie have been a team from the beginning, starting their married lives together over 30 years ago. They have raised three children while building their business from scratch. Together they bring a culmination of talents for a truly unique building experience. Based locally within the Akron and Cleveland suburbs James Yeager Homebuilders creates about three custom homes per year. This allows Jim and Julie to be hands-on, while personally keeping your costs under control.
As opposed to a ”bigger is always better” philosophy, and stamping out mass quantity, “cookie cutter” homes, James Yeager Homebuilders Inc aims at building a few homes a year. This model avoids the cost of employees, supervisors, sales people and the overhead burdening most home building companies. The founder’s goal is to personally oversee each phase of work and concentrate on the most important aspect of the home building experience: the relationship with the customer.
Aside from the obvious accomplishment of constructing a building that will likely outlive us, we love the intangible benefits of working with people from all walks of life. Each time we build a new home we are improved and better rounded by seeing inside someone else’s world, at least for a while.
The Yeager’s goal is to personally oversee each phase of work and concentrate on the most important aspect of the homebuilding experience: the relationship with the customer. Jim and Julie are still in love with their work and making new friends on every job, is a dream come true for the Yeager's.
Our mission is to share our passion about what we do, while listening to each of our customer’s wants and needs and to build their dream home within their budget. That’s why we want to remain small and involved in our work, to give our homeowners a personalized, hands-on building experience and a home they will love to live in.
HOW WE DESIGN
Our Design Approach
One of the greatest benefits to designing a new home with James Yeager Homebuilders Inc. is the simple to use, yet powerful Chief Architect program. During design sessions, Jim or Julie will meet with you and listen to your wants, dreams and budget. They will then bring them to life on traditional elevation and 3-D views. When you have a new idea, you will experience it taking shape first hand.
Many homeowners who don’t work in the drawing or design field find standard drawing confusing and boring. When we create a 3-D model, the owners often feel as though they “know” every inch of the home, before its built.
If your home computer is out of date or doesn’t support our program, we will loan you a laptop PC with your updated plan files to view at your leisure. With just a few clicks of the mouse you can take your loved ones, friends or co-workers on a virtual tour of your new home and bring their input back to the next design meeting.
We proudly use Chief Architect to draft your home from scratch. We leverage this powerful 3-D modeling drafting tool to help you invision your dream home as easily as possible.
